Ubersense (formerly Excelade) is a mobile app that helps athletes and coaches improve at their sport using video and collaboration.

How to use UberSense from UberSense on Vimeo.

iTunes – app for both iPhone and iPad (free)

I’ve tested it on iPhone. Works well, as advertised.

One glitch. When I clicked to download one of their default (tennis) videos when on a weak WiFi signal, the app hangs. I could not exit.

We use it on an iPad and find it very simple and helpful. Also easy to upload and email directly to the gymnast so that she may add to her youtube page.

I find that this app takes too long to render video for slow motion optimization. It makes it difficult when you want to quickly analyze your athlete’s performance in the gym to show them. However, it is great for organizing video and sharing over different methods. Right now I like “coachmyvideo” for the iPad. It loads your video right away and you can do pretty much the same thing as with the other popular coaching iPad apps, except superimpose video (they have side-by-side). It sucks that you can’t save your analysis, but you can at least save images of an analysis. Also it seems with coachmyvideo you don’t have as many options to share video as ubersense. I think both of these free apps will make improvements with updates so I have both right now.

Thanks. I’ll check out that app, too.

Coaches eye is my favourite coaching app so far, for iPhone. It does cost, about £7 I think. Frame by frame and angle-drawing tools to superimpose on the image are both things I use fairly often.
