USA Olympic pool MAG WAG

All eight men and all eight women still have a chance to compete in London. You never know.

They’ll all be training as if they were competing at the Olympics. Only one alternate travels with the Team. I assume the other two will be training nearby, just in case they get the call last minute.

All alternates travel. They just stay outside the village and train separately. In Beijing, the men stayed just outside town with their coaches, and the women were in Tokyo. But this time men and women will all be in London, close to, but not with, the teams.

All Alternates travel. I think for worlds they actually have a 1st alternate (who travels)…then two others who stay in the States. In Beijing, the three alternates for the women trained in Japan. They were suppose to train in Tianjin but a mix up with visas changed that plan. In 2004, all three alternates trained in Greece too.

All alternates travel for Worlds, too. They just usually have less of them.
