That is what is just so very special about Beth- she is always learning new skills- not just simply maintaining her skill set and fitness. She is so very lucky- and talented, of course!
Love it. Hope she debuts that at World’s.
a new G level skill!!
Congratulations to Beth and Amanda! I’m not a dreamer, but I think that later it will possible for her to perform even 1 ½ twist out. Taking into account sufficiently hard surface of the floor and such a height of a double somersault forward, may be it will be more comfortable and safer to land performing 1 ½ twist. Beth makes it so easy. That’s why I am thinking that it should take place soon.
@Rick — do you know if anyone (MAG included) has ever done 1.5 twist double with the 1.5 all on the first salto? Would love to see that.
I’ve not seen that variation.
The early twist would tend to stall rotation on the bad ones.
I think worrying about when the twist occurs is kind of silly. For example, many full-ins have half-in half-out characterstics. This is a stunning skill, regardless of twist timing and I just think of it as a 1.5 twisting double back.
There was male gymnast named Zach Lee trying to do it in competition in the late 80′s. Everytime I remember watching him. He would sit it down. I do believe male gymnast could perform this as a thomas and front out of it, instead of rolling out
You are probably right, reklaw.
