Rather than try to legislate “equality for women in sport”, far better is to create products that the general public want. Women’s Artistic Gymnastics is super marketable.

1). Title lX does not legislate equality. It’s an anti-discrimination statute.
2) Don’t hold women’s sports to a higher standard than most men’s sports. The truth of the matter is that the sports most people want to watch are sports played by men (football, hoops, and in some places ice hockey), but most men’s non revenue sports are not much more popular than the average women’s sport. Men’s college gymnastics is a lot less popular than women’s, and that’s not going to change anytime soon – because of American culture, not because it’s a “bad product”.
So let the free market take over and there will be almost nothing left but football and men’s basketball. I’m sure a lot of Athletic Directors would be just fine with that.
