how did he break his neck in the foam pit?? o0

It is not tht hard to break a neck in the pit. I did the same doing a double front. Came short landed on my neck and the complete body compressed on that one spot.
Ligaments and disk is damaged and removed, vertebrae dislocated and all now fixed with metal. So it can be done :)

but when you land head or neck first into a proper pit, you should ‘sink’ in a bit, which is supposed to ease the hit, and allow the body to realign in such way that would prevent such massive damage.

obviously, I’m not questioning anything here, but just asking out of sheer fright.

That’s why we ALWAYS say to rec kids the pit is for “seat or feet” anything else is an accident waiting to happen.
