Can somebody explain how Legendre can get a 7.6 D-score on vault ? Is the scoring system different from the FIG standards ? I’ve been wondering for a while now.
That is strange. Dragalescu Vault is 7.0 F.I.G., I believe.
USAG MAG has modified FIG scoring that includes .1/.2/.3 bonus for reaching certain D scores (varies by event); more lenient deductions on, IIRC, some angles on rings and high bar and additional regrasps on p-bars; and bonus for routines with E scores above 9.1 (.1 for 9.1 – 9.45; .2 for 9.5 and up). The E score bonus is applied only if there is D score bonus, and does not apply to vault.
Gymnasts can get bonus on vault with one or two vaults, but all bonus goes on the first vault score.
Based on the document (apologies for not linking, my computer is acting up and I can’t access it), I came up with the following bonus on night 1 of nationals, other than vault:
Horton: .3 on R
Leyva: .1 on PB, .3 on HB
Wynn: .3 on R, .3 on PB
Ishino: .1 on PH
Brooks: .1 on PB*; .2 on HB
Elkind: .1 on HB
Ruggeri: .2 on HB
Buscaglia: .3 on HB
Dixon: .3 on FX
Gentry: .1 on R
Legendre: .3 on FX
Bailey: .2 on PH
Tan: .3 on R
Ribiero: .2 on PH
Additionally, Leyva and Brooks should have each had E score bonus of .1 on p-bars.
Daggett sort of referenced the modified scoring when Legendre vaulted, but no details or mention at any other time.
thanks for explaining AJ, I understand now.
