Rick,
Dwight asked Stoica about succeeding Grandi about 3 years ago….Stoica responded (quoting): “Why not?”

I certainly hope Stoica doesn’t succeed Grandi. You think Grandi is bad-Stoica would run the FIG into the ground. All you have to do is look at the mess the RGF is.

Dmarten, what do you know about the mess from RGF, Mr. Stoica alway had a plan and is going to follow that plan, even if it going to happen now or ten years from now. He has patience, and is squeezing the door slowly.

The TON of bad press about gymnastics in Romania has seemed to have subsided in recent weeks. Good news.

Certainly Stoica is rarely mentioned as “fixing” those problems. But you’d know better, Nick. Perhaps he’s working quietly in the background.

His reputation internationally is that his main interest is positioning himself to run for the TOP job at F.I.G.

I’d like to see Stoica’s “plan”. If he thinks bringing back Belu and Bitang are going to make the Romanians win again, he’s got rocks in his head.

Sorry to be so negative about Stoica, Nick.

I’m still irked about how he led the judges in the 2004 Olympics. A disaster. I spoke with many judges who blame him personally.
