pretty – Anna Myzdrikova on Floor

Though this routine by a Russian gymnast finished with the Silver medal behind local-girl-makes-good Beth Tweddle at the Glasgow World Cup, it was the favourite of Live.Breathe.Love.Gymnastics.

I have to agree.

This may be the routine I’ve enjoyed most in the past 5 years.

IG Forum has a thread with commentary on who will have the best Floor routine at Worlds ’09.

Gorgeous floor routine. Her movements are very Ann Pavlova-esque, which I think is a huge compliment. That’s my favorite floor routine I’ve seen in a really long time. triple full to back tuck…would love to see her make that a layout stepout…but gorgeous. Whip to double arabian was gorgeous. 5/2 to barani stag jump was artistic and gorgeous. The only problem she had was on the double pike, which I’m sure is 90% of the time gorgeous. The Russians have another very special athlete there.

I like it, the tumbling was a little weak if you ask me, but overall the artistry in the floor has been more than i have been in any floor for a long time.

Awesome hope to see more of it.

Floor is still one giant disappoinment for me. This routine has some cool tumbling lines but I am not seeing anything that makes me gasp from an artistic stand point. That happened regularly with the Soviet’s of the 80′s.

I agree with lifting me…She can dance, but I’m not wowed. I really like her tumbling though, she dares to do something different. *clap-clap*

Funny, I thought the dance was a little weak myself. The tumbling lines were pretty decent though.

Her dance was miles beyond Tweddle’s, but I preferred Semenova’s routine from Europeans for artistry.

Her dance could use some fluidity, but it wasn’t horrible. She can develop it over time. I think that Coach M’s idea of changing the back tuck to a layout stepout would be GORGEOUS. Love that idea. Overall really nice composition and interesting combinations.. Very original, and that is something we often miss in floor.
