Steven Legendre is getting all the internet buzz, but who’s #1 ranked in the NCAA All-around?
Penn State’s Casey Sandy collects his third weekly award of the season upon capturing four individual titles en route to his fourth all-around crown of 2009, in Saturday’s dual meet with third-ranked Illinois. Chris is snapping at Steve’s heel. Snap snap.
More on Chris Brooks, who I’d never heard of before this website: http://www.soonersports.com/sports/m-gym/archive/021509aaa.html
It’s amazing that Sandy gets so little pub. He could end up winning 2 AA titles in a row.
He doesn’t even get any publicity in Canada – Where he’s actually from. Grrrr…. don’t even get me started on the entire Beijing team without Sandy….
Tracy, just curious why would you talk about Sandy in terms of the Olympics when he didn’t even compete in the Olympic team trials?
That’s not what I heard. They did do training camps that he did attend. The men’s team did not stick to the same standards that the girls used to make the team. His not being considered had to do with training in the states and not being able to attend the training events in Canada leading up to the Olympics. I think it’s a dig at him for doing NCAA and not staying up in Canada. Typical Canadian attitude. Regardless of his ability and what he could have done for Canada. It’s Canada’s loss. The Canadian system is flawed and leans heavily toward those have the right connections.
