I’ve been looking forward to this!
The competition starts Tuesday in the gargantuan Calgary Olympic Oval.
I stopped by tonight to snap a few pics.

Men’s Floor Manager Rosemary Rosemary Redgrift confirmed what you assume. The set-up was a BIG JOB. Thanks to all the volunteers.
… over 600 gymnasts and 300 coaches and officials to the Olympic Oval where Canada’s young athletes in artistic gymnastics, tumbling, and trampoline will compete for National titles. I must have just missed you Rick… I just finished competing in the Alberta Team Challenge hosted by AGF and UofC Gymnastics on the nationals equipment. It felt wierd to be out there with all the young kids but my athletes needed another team member so they would have a full team and I thought I had it in me to help them out.
Very good open spacious set up and the equipment was amazing. The vault may pose some problems for some athletes though… it is different material than what most athletes and coaches are framiliar with (it kinda feels like a basketball). Its hard to say whether kids will be slipping as most athletes only did handsprings this afternoon anyways.
Good luck at nationals everyone! Wish I could be there!
Ah, I didn’t realize a competition was held on the Sunday or I would have come earlier.
Is it warm in there? Isn’t that the same room they have speedskating? I’m guessing it must be warm enough, but what did you think?
The temperature was very comfortable! Not too hot and I was never cold. Hopefully they don’t adjust the thermostat.
I would suggest spectators get there a bit early for good seats. There is ALOT of seating, but not many AWESOME seats.
