Chinese Gymnastics Championships videos !!

Wow.

The internet is buzzing with these videos just posted from China. (How hard could the government be clamping down on the internet?)

fanbutterfly tried to film both He Kexin (17.300 bars) and Li Shanshan (16.950 beam) simultaneously.

Click PLAY or watch it on YouTube.

He Kexin is gorgeous! I think she is a much better bar worker then Nastia.

[...] Andrew Thornton on Gymnast.com is crunching the numbers after the recent competition in China. … If the scores reported from this meet are legitimate, then China may be so far above and beyond the rest of the world at this point that even the U.S. women can only dream of beating them. … [...]

If this helps at all…He Kexin is allegedly (I say this as I do not have proof) not age eligible for the Beijing Olympics, however it is rumored that the Chinese will attempt to forge her birth certificate. Once again, it is rumor, and I have no proof. Also, Li Shanshan’s beam routine was beautiful, but I don’t think it would have scored anywhere near as high in international competition. Maybe in the 16.1-16.3 range. As many people have mentioned before, at US nationals, the scores seemed to be slightly inflated; the Chinese nationals made the US judges look extremely tough. It will be a very tight competition, and if the US loses to China, at least it will be to a worthy team. They have the difficulty and artistry combined which is very hard to come by in this new code of points.
