Over on the (normally excellent) Gymnastic Bodies strength forum there’s a bizarre thread:
Need urgent help…
by Zingam
See, most guys seem to like smaller women but I like them tall like 6 feet at least. There is one big problem though – they tend to weight quite a lot – 154 pounds wouldn’t be unexpected.
So what would you recommend to do to gain the strength to get one up and carry her around without breaking myself. … I actually can do it but I’m not convinced that I am strong enough and that I won’t get injured some day. So I need to train.
I didnβt see much beam I particularly liked last year. Dearly departed Porgras declined β still moved beautifully, but everything interesting was slowly sucked out of the routine. …
So Iβm going leftfield β Danusia Francis at British Nationals. Lovely carriage and posture, and she got to show it off at Worlds this year. News flash GB coaches β you get about one athlete a decade who can actually do this event. Donβt waste her. …

I’d love to vote for Uchimura’s double twisting Kovacs attempt. But of the successful skills shown, maybe it’s Ri Se Gwang’s Tsuk double with 1/1 twist.

Thanks @SyqueCaesar … and good luck with that Olympics thing. π
… I posted a few things 1996 double Olympic gold medalist Shannon Miller said during a live webchat with The Seattle Times. Someone asked Miller directly whether she had ever vaulted a double-twisting Yurchenko, which was something of a rarity in her era. …
