“The Jesolo Trophy, for me, was a great start of the new season, National Championships in Hartford and the WCH in Antwerp are the biggest meets for me.
I will try to increase my difficulty, because I want to reach the All Around Finals in Antwerp at the WCH. This is the only one I have not yet made during my career”.
1. Rheagan Courville (LSU), 39.750
– Bridget Sloan (Florida), 39.750
– Vanessa Zamarripa (UCLA), 39.750

… In terms of the power conferences – the SEC, the Pac 12, and the Big Ten – there were only a handful of major surprises, with most results seeming to follow the performances of the teams all season.
The biggest shock was Nebraska, who have performed decently throughout 2013 with only a few rough meets. On Saturday, however, they completely came out of their shells for a huge victory over Michigan …
Some may consider Oregon State’s win shocking … they totally owe it to the strength of their bars, where they earned a 49.675. Normally some of the best bar workers in the nation, their loss of Olivia Vivian and Leslie Mak last year left them faltering, but they’ve been picking up steam over the past couple of weeks especially and used the momentum from the home crowd to their advantage. …
LSU saw a heroic performance from Rheagan Courville, who earned a perfect 10 on vault and competed strongly across the board for a 39.75 finish that tied Sloan for the all-around title. …
Also notable…Bridgeport won the ECAC DII Championships with a 195.875, a score that would have given them the ECAC DI Championship title by over two points! …
At some point, it became obvious that committees are not often very efficient at arriving at good decisions.
Instead of keeping eyes on the prize, committee members are easily distracted by the last “issue”. Most of a parents Board of Directors meeting — for example — will focus on the ill-fitting new leotards, not the club Mission. 😦
