Great new gym coming soon to MY city. 🙂

This fall … the opening of Kyle Shewfelt Gymnastics, an 11,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility in the city’s southeast that will offer gymnastic programming to Calgarians of all ages.

“It’s going to start out with a purely recreational focus,” he notes of the centre that will be located near the Deerfoot Casino, “with the intention to have a competitive program later.”

Gold medal-winning Olympic gymnast Shewfelt becomes a champion of his city

Calgary is a boom town. Plenty of room for another club.

… the first Universiade that I will be taking part in as a university student, and I also have the huge responsibility of fulfilling my position as the honorary ambassador of the next host city, 2015 Gwangju Universiade. Many talented Russian gymnasts are expected to participate in the Kazan Universiade which will provide a high level of competition.

The Universiade is a competition event held biannually and with the participants being amateur college athletes between the ages 17 to 28 …

In addition to the plentiful free video content, Gymnastike announced more content available for pay.

My best guess at cost — monthly subscription to Gymnastike Gold $19.99/mo. A yearly subscription $150/year ($12.50/mo.). Leave a comment if you can confirm those numbers. They’ve hidden the pricing since the beginning. 😦

Chrissy says it’s $147 for the year. Or 19.99/month and cancel at any time.

A difficult element from underarm (group 2) is required for Senior. But that doesn’t mean we need to require it of narrow shouldered growing boys.

Hey. That’s a HIGH catch position on Tippelt. This kid might fly to handstand. 🙂

Handstand, Strength and Flexibility

Cabins choose one camper to represent them in each of the three challenges. First, our campers showed their strength by seeing who could hold an L-seat for the longest amount of time. Then, campers are asked to perform a set of flexibility skills to see who’s got what it takes to be the most flexible camper on campus! Finally, it’s the camper who can hold the longest handstand around!

Our PGC judges, Steve Legendre, Andy Smith and Jake Dalton had their work cut out for them tonight! …
