@Ashley_Flipper:
I started watching gymnastics in 2006 so these five were the big gymnasts at the time …
… I’ve been obsessed with gymnastics for 7 years now and I can’t imagine gymnastics without these girls.
They all tried to make a comeback in 2011 and 2012 which I was so grateful for because that meant I got to watch them compete again. I hate that they are no longer competing and I wished they would have stayed (hence the song). I cry my eyes out watching this montage because I just have such a connection to them. I really can’t imagine gymnastics without them

Thanks Ashley. Happily, we still have Bridget.

After the 2013 JO National Championships, the 407-352 Graphite E (Soft) Rail will become the standard uneven bar rail used in J.O. competitions throughout the US.
This flexible rail provides the feel of wood with the strength and resiliency of fiberglass. It is manufactured with less Graphite strands, making it 15-17% less rigid …

I heard on GymCastic that some of that material will be made available online for those who cannot watch the TV premiere. 🙂
Laura-Ann Chong loved the event. And got a Cirque contract right after it finished. Life is good for Laura-Ann.
Sabrina’s coaches did a great job. But she’s switched to Fongs, hoping the change will get her back on the A-team.
Sabrina Vega … was a member of the United States national team that won gold at the 2011 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. …
Vega competed at the 2012 Olympic Trials. She finished 10th in the all-around and was not named to the team. …
How has training been going?
Training’s been going great! I feel like this move is definitely helping and I’m really liking this gym. [The training schedule] is different from my other gym. We go 6 days a week and focus on putting new skills in, technique, and all that. Right now, I’m working with Sarah Finnegan, Maddie Desch, Brenna Dowell, and other Level 9/10 athletes.
Did you miss the last training camp?
I had to go and have shoulder surgery so I’m in rehab now. It was an old injury so I just had to go and repair it. It’s supposed to be a 4 month recovery. We could work out on it but it’s a perfect time to fix it and I won’t have to worry about it in the years to come. This was probably the perfect time to take the time and repair it so when I do get healed up, it’s straightforward from then on. My goal is to heal up but if I’m ready to compete [for Classics and Nationals], then I will.

… she’s 14 years old, an 8th grader, and one of the newest junior elite gymnasts. Vanasia trains at Splitz Gymnastics in Canton, Michigan …
Triple Twist: Who are some of your role models in gymnastics? Who do you look up to?
Vanasia: In the gym I look up to Isabell Hutchins because she’s been through so much bad stuff, yet she comes in the gym everyday with a positive attitude and pushes through all the obstacles that come her way. Outside of the gym I look up to Rebecca Bross. I love the way she presents herself at competitions. She never gives up and is really mentally tough.
Triple Twist: There is video of you training a triple twisting double, was that just for fun or do you plan on competing it?

Vanasia: I won’t be competing that, haha. But I should compete the double double.
