Beautiful Gymnastics:
At worlds qualifications in Antwerp, only 3 gymnasts can compete each event. This means that there isn’t room for 3 gymnasts to battle it out for the all around final and have a fourth specialist compete for her chance in event finals …
It’s no bother to Romania who are only bringing three girls but it makes US Nationals more important as it will effectively decide their second all-arounder, as they also cannot have Simone Biles, Kyla Ross and Brenna Dowell/ Peyton Ernst/ Elizabeth Price battling it out in qualifications.
This makes the inclusion of a beam/bars specialist like Peyton Ernst/Abigail Milliet or a healthy Katelyn Ohashi more likely …
This is the first time I’ve heard only 3 of the 4 competitors can compete each apparatus in Belgium. Markus recalls it being this way for some time.
Antwerp COULD have been a perfect meet for Katelyn Ohashi, if only she wasn’t injured.

Roxana Popa – Bars
The biggest surprise of the year so far is seeing Romanian born Spanish gymnast Roxana Popa sitting 7th on the list of highest AA scores so far this quadrennial. (58.083 at Spanish Nationals)
An interview with Gigi Khazback Farid mentioned some upgrades for Worlds 2013. Especially on Bars. … But we’ll have to wait to see what those are.

World Games: China, Russia, GBR
FIG:
China came out on top of the overall medal table for all Gymnastics disciplines at these Games, garnering a striking nine Gold medals. Russia came second with three Golds, five Silvers and two Bronzes, followed by Great Britain, who won three Gold, three Silver and one Bronze medal.
Concluding with the Closing Ceremony at the city’s Pascual Guerrero Stadium on Sunday, The World Games 2013 Cali will say “Thank you” and “Goodbye” to the 109 delegations that participated in 31 sports over 11 days.
The 10th edition of the World Games will be held from August 3–13, 2017 in Wroclaw, Poland. …

He calls the current situation “a pot full of lies” and says all documents relating to the Intercontinental Judges’ Course have disappeared. He sees wheeling and dealing among the judges: “You’re my friend and I’ll give you something. And the friends of friends and so on.”

Don’t say anything if she’s lost weight. Don’t say anything if she’s gained weight.
If you think your daughter’s body looks amazing, don’t say that. Here are some things you can say instead:
“You look so healthy!” is a great one.
Or how about, “you’re looking so strong.”
“I can see how happy you are – you’re glowing.”

Jade Barbosa is injured.
There’s no shortage of drama in Brazil. Friday the FIG suspended the Federation because they had not paid fees for the World Cup in Portugal, June 22nd.
Brazil stated that they had made payment the day prior, but that there was a banking problem.
Other disorganized nations, Botswana and Turkmenistan, were also suspended. Botswana is not hosting the next Olympics. There’s the difference. 😦
