I’m looking forward to Lauren competing Japan Junior. Lyons from GBR will be there. As well as many of the top Jr talents in the world.

… Worth mentioning are the numerous injuries that knocked down a handful of junior athletes between training and competitions throughout the week. Alexandra Marks re-injured her ankle while dismounting bars during podium training, Ashley Foss dislocated her kneecap on the training day between prelims and finals, Emily Schild hit her head on the vault after balking on her Yurchenko during warm-ups on day two (though she decided to compete and hit an incredible floor routine later that day!), and Felicia Hano got a concussion after slipping off of the low bar at the start of her van Leeuwen during finals. …

Coaches Jason Fredericks and his wife (former national team member) Mary Beth Arnold have been quietly working on a massive new NCAA Gymnastics site.
Jason’s Mom is Wanda Fredericks, Jake Dalton’s first coach.
It compares somewhat with our beloved troester.com — but is done quite differently, with different features.
And a modern, welcoming look.
Sample graphic. Most Men’s Team Championships:
Check it out, a work in progress. Call it a BETA site …
It’s unofficial. Not a product of the NCAA.
During the 2014 season many results will be posted day of the meet. We won’t need to wait until the weekend finishes.
Looks great.
Jason’s got experience. He’s one of the creators of Poptropica, an online kids game with over 500 million accounts.
I’ll be following the new site closely. 🙂
ESPN’s CEO John Skipper decided to end his company’s partnership with a PBS’s Frontline investigation into NFL concussions after viewing a trailer for the upcoming documentary.
Skipper, talking to ESPN’s ombudsman, said he thought the trailer sensationalized the story. .…
You can watch that trailer — “League of Denial: The NFL’s Concussion Crisis” preview — on PBS. (VIDEO)
… one week before Skipper went public and severed the partnership, the CEO met with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and Steve Bornstein, president of the NFL Network.
The Times described the meeting as “combative,” and their sources say that Goodell pressured Skipper to cut ties with Frontline on the project. From the trailer, it’s pretty easy to see how the NFL fares in the documentarians’ hands: “Frontline investigates what the NFL knew, and when they knew it,” the narrator says. Then, an interviewee adds, “you can’t go against the NFL. They’ll squash you.” …

Frontline’s League of Denial will air on PBS in two parts on October 8 and 15th.

In fact, I believe the NFL will not be able to dodge these charges.
The damage to players is far greater than we knew.
