She’s facing six to nine months of rehabilitation. …
Auburn turned in its second-highest score in school history with last Friday’s 197.100 against Alabama. Now, Auburn will press on without one of its top performers this Friday against Georgia …

No. 12 Stanford hit all 24 routines and six Cardinal gymnasts recorded collegiate bests Monday, as the Cardinal pulled the upset over No. 4 Utah, 197.000-196.300.
In front of a crowd of over 3,000 fans in Maples Pavilion and broadcast on the Pac-12 Network, the Cardinal (12-1, 4-1 Pac-12) delivered an incredibly consistent performance to hand the Utes (7-1, 4-1) its first loss on the season. …
Kristina Vaculik continued to shine in the all-around, picking up the individual victory with a 39.475. Vaculik punctuated the Cardinal’s win with a collegiate-best 9.950 on floor in the anchor position to close the competition.

Never underestimate Stanford.

Olympic gold medalist and four-time World champion Kohei Uchimura (JPN) is one of the most “rhythmical” gymnasts music professor Lasse Nettum has ever seen. In order to demonstrate what happens when a piece of music corresponds well with a gymnast’s natural movement, Nettum composed this original piece to accompany Uchimura’s horizontal bar routine from the 2011 World Championships. The video was presented as part of an artistry and music workshop at the Artistic World Championships in Antwerp (BEL) last fall.
