Fourteen year old, Chloe Kim, earned gold in superpipe finals at X Games 15 in Aspen, Colorado, and became the youngest athlete of all time to stand atop an X Games podium.

Kim took the win with her last run that included a switch method, cab 9, and a switch backside 7. Despite suffering a gnarly crash in practice, in which she chipped her tooth, Kim was still able to stomp this gold medal run. …

One athlete doesn’t make a team, but the past two meets the Gym Dogs sure felt the absence of junior Brittany Rogers.

Rogers only competed bars in the season opener before being held out of the next two — not even traveling to Denver — due to a coaching decision.

But in No. 10 Georgia’s dominant win over No. 14 Kentucky Saturday, Rogers competed her way to a career-high 9.975 on bars and picked up a 9.85 on vault and 9.7 on beam. …

EMU – highest score in 11 years

The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team recorded its highest team score in 11 years, tallying season highs in every rotation en route to a 195.250-192.425 victory over the Bowling Green State University Falcons …

“I’m really proud of the team tonight,” said EMU Head Coach Jay Santos. “I keep preaching to them that we need to keep improving and each competition so far they keep responding. We followed last week’s performance of 24-for-24 routines by going 23-for-24 tonight.

This is Jay’s first season. Keep up the good work, coach. 🙂
