Trampoline was invented and first popularized in the U.S.A. This man was one of the main builders of the Olympic Sport.
Jeff Hennessy of Broussard, La., a noted trampoline coach whose athletes won a total of 26 World medals and former chairman of the International Trampoline Federation’s Technical Committee, passed March 24.
“Jeff was a genuine man and a pioneer for the sport of trampoline,” said Steve Penny, president and CEO of USA Gymnastics. “His legacy is evident in the program’s leadership today and how far the sport has come.” …

The goal is to make a documentary about an incredible PE program. To inspire schools to improve the quality of Physical Education.
In 1957 there was no PE program more impressive than the one at La Sierra High. Their results were so amazing that the program captured the attention of President John F. Kennedy, who announced his famous challenge for America to make a “Great National Effort” to become physically fit. Excitement surrounded La Sierra’s PE curriculum. Eventually over 4,000 schools across the nation followed this program.
…until PE programs were subject to budget CUTS and Kennedy’s goal for physical fitness for our children was virtually forgotten. …

The University of Bridgeport tallied 195.225 points on the way to capturing its seventh consecutive ECAC Division II Women’s Gymnastics Championship on Saturday afternoon at Southern Connecticut State University. The Owls placed second with 191.875 points, while West Chester University finished third with a mark of 190.600.
Senior Sasha Tsikhanovich (Marysville, Ohio) was named the 2015 ECAC Gymnast of the Year for the Purple Knights after capturing first place finishes on bars, floor and the all-around. Tsikhanovich put together top scores of 9.875 on bars, 9.975 on floor and a total of 39.325 in the all-around. …
195.225 would beat a LOT of Division I teams. 🙂
