Lloimincia Hall – SEC Floor Champ

OK. I like over-the-top College routines as much as anybody. But this is too much for me. 🙂

LSU freshman Lloimincia Hall was crowned 2012 SEC Floor Exercise Champion with a 9.925. She also helped the Tigers to a 4th place finish in the team competition with a 196.425

who’s NOT honouring me now?

The About.com 2012 Readers’ Choice Awards (Gymnastics) have concluded counting 35,000+ votes.

Gymnastike earned the top spot for Best Gym Website, for the second year in a row.

This site was a distant 3rd place.

That didn’t surprise. But this did:

Well-known brand Ten.0 took the prize as best grip, with 59 percent.

The Runners-Up:

Reisport: 24%

US Glove: 5%

Bailie: 5%

English Bulldog: 4%

Are Ten.0 really that popular? I tell all girls to buy Reisport.

proposed WAG Vault Finals scoring

The E Panel on the DRAFT Code 2013-2016:

(DVT1 + DVT2)/2 + 10.00 – (VT1 ex deductions + VT2 ex deductions) = Final score

The above is taken straight from the draft code. But what does it actually mean? It means that E scores are no longer averaged, but instead the focus is on the deductions themselves, so bad form can be doubly costly. …

… Also, two vaults with the same post flight will not count in event finals. This would mean, for example, that Elena Zamolodchikova’s 2 vaults from the Sydney event final would not be appropriate because they both consist of a backward entry laid out salto with 2 twists. …

one MAG Canadian Olympian

Canada had a strong Men’s Artistic Team in Beijing. But did not qualify for the 2012 Games, finishing 13th. The top 12 teams go.

In the past, this would have meant that Canada could send two Olympians. In 2000, for example, Sasha Jeltkov & Kyle Shewfelt were sent.

But due to team size changes, for London the 13th – 16th place teams qualify only one athlete. Here’s how Canada is choosing:

Underlying Principles of the Selection Process:

1. The primary goal is the selection of an individual who can demonstrate an ability to qualify for Apparatus Finals on one or more apparatus.

2. If the primary goal cannot be attained, the secondary goal is to select an athlete born in 1990 or later, with a high probability of being a member of the 2016 Olympic Team.

Mandatory …
May 20 to 27, 2012 – Canadian Championships, Regina

Voluntary …
April 27 to 29, 2012 – Challenger Cup, Osijek, Croatia
June 1 to 3, 2012 – Challenger Cup, Maribor, Slovenia
June 9 to 10, 2012 – Challenger Cup, Ghent, Belgium

Good luck, guys.
