fwd layout to double tuck

Wow.

Tough tumbling line.

To watch you could click on the embed on this site. Or click through to Gymnastike.

The embed has no video ad. The Gymnastike page does.

I mention this as I’m a bit irked at Gymnastike for not being more transparent on which of their links lead to the membership only videos, and which are free to all.

Normally I’d tell people to go to Gymnastike rather than watch on this site. But right now, if you are not a paid Gold member, you should be leery of wasting your time on a Gymnastike link. Not knowing in advance whether or not you can watch it.

I’d recommend you to join Gymnastike Gold, but I’m also irked they are so reluctant to tell folks the price of membership up front. (My personal philosophy is not to buy any product that has deceptive or hidden pricing.)

All that said, this is a very cool tumbling sequence. Thanks for posting it Gymnastike. 🙂

no grips Dabritz – Bars

NCAA Finals 2013.

LOVE the Comaneci.

Dabritz tied for second in the uneven bars competition at Pauley Pavilion, just missing the distinction of being the first Utah uneven bars champion since Kristina Baskett won the award in 2006.

Competing first out of 10 competitors, Dabritz hit her routine and earned a 9.9. …

NCAA 2014 ?

Balance Beam Situation speculates:

Florida

It will be harder next year. I have to think Florida remains the title favorite since it is difficult to argue against a core of Sloan, Hunter, Johnson, and Caquattuses, but for the first time in several years, the Gators are losing a significant number of top routines and not necessarily replacing them with equivalent freshmen. They will become more reliant on a core of oft-injured elites. …

UCLA

This will be the unrecognizable team next year. The Bruins are losing half of their routines from Super Six. Usually, that would be cause to expect a plummet, but while it is difficult to project any team to improve that loses a gymnast like Zamarripa, this team is gaining so much next year that improvement is absolutely possible as long as the injury spirits have moved on to another team. Twelve routines will go, but Peszek, Lee, Larson, Mossett, Gerber, and Cipra should contribute far more than twelve as a group. …

… By finishing second at both NCAA Championships, the Sooners became just the third university in NCAA gymnastics history to have both programs finish in the top two in the same season, joining UCLA in 1984 and Michigan in 1999 when both the Wolverines and the Bruins had their men finish first and women finish second.

… The OU men have won five national titles since 2000 and eight overall, including wins in 1977, 1978, 1991, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2008 while finishing in the top three nationally in each of the last 13 seasons.

The Sooner women have quickly joined in on their counterparts’ success since head coach K.J. Kindler took over in 2007, finishing in the top three in three of the past four seasons, including a second place finish in 2010 and a third-place standing in 2011.

… The OU men’s team will return 26 of 30 routines competed at the NCAA Championship while the OU women’s squad brings back 21 of the 24 routines from its NCAA competition. …
