Olympic champion Rosie MacLennan of Toronto shook off the rust of almost a year away from competition to edge Bryony Page of Great Britain for the gold medal in the women’s trampoline event Saturday at the Canada Cup. …
In the men’s competition seven-time Canadian champion Jason Burnett of Toronto, ranked sixth after prelims, mounted a furious comeback in a bid to overtake Daiki Kishi of Japan for the title, but had to settle for the silver medal with a total score of 162.560 points. …
In other events, hometown favourite Corissa Bouchuk of Airdrie, Alta., and Keegan Soehn of Red Deer, Alta., won gold in women’s and men’s double mini trampoline and Greg Townly and Lucie Colebeck of Great Britain won the men’s and women’s tumbling titles.

In this week’s WOW, we get to experience a workout with up-and-coming coach Justin Laury from Splitz Gymnastics in Michigan. This is a summer morning training session with optional level gymnasts and Junior International Elite Vanasia Bradley.
Watch as coach Laury takes them through warmup, uneven bars basics and new skills, trains vault at a special station on the tumbltrak, and transitions into a new cardio workout.

Good potential for a young guy. But that’s too much forward tumbling for my liking. The rules should reward the gymnast who can demonstrate a wide variety of skills.
