new Bruno Grandi interview

Bruno… creating normality in the area of scoring …

… the age question. If you rob a female athlete of all hope of ever making the national team when she is just 13 or 14, if 18-year-olds are considered old – and there are only a few exceptions – what hope is there? A sport that ages early has no future.

… reforming the competition calendar which we will discuss at a symposium this year.

Saying the World Cup [series] is working well is pointless. It is going really badly. It will be crucial to give more importance to the continental championships and the World Cup. They should both ultimately lead to Olympic participation. We need a comprehensive Olympic qualification that starts in the post-Olympic year and ultimately leads up to the 96 athletes in the Olympic season. [Two berths are reserved for athletes representing Africa for a total of 98 Olympics berths – TAA]. …

Uchimura 91.85

A commenter on GymFever linked to results from a recent competition called All-Japan Adult.

Kohei Uchimura:

FX D6.4 15.600
PH D6.2 15.100
SR D6.2 15.100
VT D6.0 15.400
PB D6.4 15.100
HB D6.9 15.550

video posted Sep 15, 2013

For Worlds 2013, Kohei MIGHT need to increase his difficulty to stay far enough ahead of the chasing peloton. He’s no longer 2 full falls plus ahead of the rest of the best.

Kohei could risk upping his D-score on H Bar.
