Score looks low to me. On the other hand, perhaps the judges were as tough on everyone. No scores above 14.0.
Cuban Ernesto Vila defects
The Cuban gymnast who competed at the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore 2010 defected in Canada.

He’s not the first to do so.
Ernesto Vila told his father, who lives in Spain, of his plan to defect.
It sounds like he’s already in the States.
Cuba has one of the great gymnastics traditions in the world, but rarely competes internationally. They did not register for Worlds 2014, for example.
Finances is the claim. Fear of defection must be a factor, as well.
