Our friends from the Netherlands captured some pics yesterday. How have we gone this long in China without seeing the little kids training?
Fabian had a fantastic competition hitting 6/6.
I don’t believe I’ve seen a guy this happy to come 8th. He was hugging everyone in sight. This was an extraordinary Individual World Finals.
GOLD β Kohei Uchimura (JPN) β 91.965
SILVER β Max Whitlock (GBR) β 90.473
BRONZE β Yusuke Tanaka (JPN) β 90.449
Last year Uchimura was first, Kato second.
Mama Uchimura was so excited.

I’d call that a HIT and a STICK.

At the post-meet Press Conference Max thanked Nile Wilson and wished him well in the H Bar final. In typical charming British understated words.
A deserving silver medalist.
All hail. In a super tough competition Kohei walks away with his record breaking 5th consecutive World Championships title. He HIT and STUCK nearly every skill. Then at the Press Conference, said he would try to improve his landings on P Bar and H Bar. Next time. π

In the oddest moment of Worlds 2014, so far, Bretschneider from Germany competed a HUGE new skill – double twisting Kovacs.
… He thought he did.
But what we saw was a routine with two full twisting Kovacs. The second one is no value and a deduction for repetition. π¦
This is a skill so difficult and scary that his mind defaulted to the “simpler” skill under pressure.
He can do it. Very well.
related – Itβs for real this time. Full twisting Kolman. (June 2013)
