Robert Ladanyi to Denver
Robert Ladanyi, former University of Florida assistant coach, will be the next University of Denver women’s gymnastics assistant coach, head coach Melissa Kutcher-Rinehart announced Monday. …
Ladanyi will begin coaching with the Pioneers on July 1, taking over for former DU assistant coach Carl Leland, who announced his retirement in April.

The Junior Olympic NIT was developed to allow an additional 192 athletes an opportunity to compete at the national level and features gymnasts who ranked eighth and ninth in the all-around in each of the eight age divisions at the Level 10 Regional Championships (provided they achieved a minimum all-around score), plus any Regional individual event champions who did not qualify to the Junior Olympic Nationals or the Junior Olympic NIT in the all-around.

Both had recently hosted the World Championships. …
Those were the only bids. Stuttgart got it.
The German city, which last hosted the event in 2007 and is staging this year’s Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in September, was picked ahead of its only challenger, Rotterdam in The Netherlands.
The FIG said both cities had similar candidate profiles. …

The top 3 teams from 2018 Worlds will have already qualified for the 2020 Olympics. At this meet the other 9 will qualify.
Now that the initial shock of having team size drop from 5 to 4 is wearing off, people are starting to look at the pros and cons of the new Olympic qualifying system.

Overall I think the new system will result in a better Olympics. And it should strengthen the Continental and World Cup competitions.
The IOC likes Gymnastics now. We’ll see if the new system better fulfils the Olympic Charter. Or not.
No doubt there will be unexpected and unintended consequences that are difficult to foresee.

Kasamatsu 3 1/2 twist
López (Kas + double twist) is in the Code at 6.0.
An extra half twist takes this to 6.4, I assume. Keisuke Ogura competed it at the NHK cup. The first time ever LANDED, I believe. 🙂
