Canadian WAG day 1

Here’s the official Gymnastics Canada write-up with link to official results.

Reigning Canadian junior champion Rose-Kaying Woo of La Prairie, Que., topped a field of mostly senior competitors on Thursday to place first in the women’s qualification at the Canadian gymnastics championships.

Woo, too young for this summer’s Pan Am Games but eligible for the 2016 Olympics, placed first on beam, second on vault and third on both uneven bars and floor for a total score of 56.200 points.

Isabela Onyshko of Minedosa, Man., placed second with 55.950 points and two-time Canadian all around champion Ellie Black of Halifax was third at 55.100. …

The AA Final will be “sudden victory” as will apparatus finals.

‘Point Break’ trailer

Recall the original 1991 ‘Point Break’ with Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze?

Neither do I. 🙂

But the 2015 remake looks like a Redbull extreme Action Sports highlights reel.

NCAA rule changes?

See the tweet.

Looks good. But leave a comment if you’ve seen an official announcement on this.

@jaredvgoad:

My guess at Pan Ams team after day one: Black, Onyshko, Chant, Copiak, V.Woo. Alt Rogers.

Rose and Shallon are age ineligible for Pan-Am and World Championships 2015. They turn Senior in 2016.

Brittany Rogers competed. Peng Peng did not.

Certainly the Canadian Pan-Am team should be built around Ellie and Isabela. They’ll look at contributing scores on each apparatus. I could see a number of different teams depending on who’s healthy and consistent.
