While in Lost Wages I learned for the first time of a fantastic promo happening this Summer.
Cirque du Soleil decided to celebrate the 25th anniversary in 2009 with the theme ‘the dream continues‘.
One part of that celebration is a ticket deal in Vegas. First ticket full price, second ticket for $25.
… From May 11 through Oct. 31 a limited number of specially priced tickets will be available for select Cirque du Soleil performances. Guests who purchase one ticket can bring a friend for $25. …
Normally this time of year I’m getting ready for the annual High Performance Gymnastics Camp in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. In 2009, however, co-owner of the host Funtastics club Lisa Rennebaum-Adlard decided to have a baby instead. (Delaney was born a week ago!)
We hoped to reschedule the June camp for August. But – so far – that’s not happening.
There are at least 2 good alternatives in the region:
LakeShores Gym and Cheer Camp – Coeur d’Alene, Idaho – Aug. 16-21, 2009 – phone Head Coach Donnie Gardiner or email him at diver_don@hotmail.com
Mismo Dream Team Gymnastics Camp – Missoula, Montana – June 28 – July 2 – Competitive Girls L4 and up. Phone 406 728-0908 or email via their website. Details on camp. (PDF)

An unexpected consequence of the very serious recession in the United Kingdom.

One of our favourite gymnasts will try to hang on until 2012 in her home country.
The 24-year-old City of Liverpool gymnast had contemplated bowing out this year but is now targeting a glorious finale at the 2012 Olympics in London.
Tweddle has bounced back from the disappointment of just missing out on an Olympic medal in Beijing last year with a string of impressive performances.
In April she won both the floor and bars competitions at the European Championships in Milan. Last month she repeated the trick with two golds in the same events at the Glasgow Grand Prix and recently led her club to the British Team Championships title at Guildford.
“It’s been a successful year for me so far and I just hope I can keep it going,” she said. “I’ve got the World University Games in Serbia next month and then the World Championships in London in October so it’s an exciting time.
“I thought I would retire this year but then I was so close in Beijing that there is still some unfinished business. Now I don’t really know when I’ll stop. …
