… Although 2011 Canadian all-around silver medalist Jessica Savona will miss this fall’s world championships because of a torn left ACL, she told IG she is keeping busy and staying optimistic during her varied regimen of rehabilitation. …
Savona said she is encouraged by the analysis of her injury by her physiotherapist, Randy Foster, who has compared it with the right ACL she tore in 2008.
“(Foster) is saying that the recovery on the left knee is a lot better than my right, and my left knee seems to be healing a lot faster with more progress than what was seen with my right,” Savona told IG. “Therefore, he and I believe that I will hopefully be back sooner than expected …
JOHN CRUMLISH in IG – Canada’s Savona Takes ACL Rehab Step By Step
Coach Sue Manjak will go to Worlds with Savona’s teammates Peng Peng Lee and Mikaela Gerber. Jessica will be home doing rehab with coaches Kelly Manjak and Lorne Bobkin.
With Savona I felt Canada could easily qualify as a team to the Olympics (top 12).
Now she must count on her team to get to London … AND rehab in time to try out for the Olympics.
If anyone can do it, Savona can.
No question. IGC (International Gymnastics Camp) has produced the best gymnastics videos I’ve ever seen.
This camp promo video is perfect.

IGC is innovating, too. Their Evolution professional gymnastics competition has potential. And I love the concept of Nick Blanton’s Professional Coaching Diploma (PCD) program.
I’ll be attending the Junior Japan International, September 24-25th in Yokohama en route to Worlds in Tokyo. …
… Lexie Priessman and Amelia Hundley of Cincinnati Gymnastics Academy will compete on the women’s side, while Adrian de los Angeles (SCATS) and Sean Melton (Orlando Metro) will compete for the junior men’s title. …
SCATS’s Grigor Chalikyan and Cincinnati’s Mary Lee Tracy will be the U.S. coaches …

Last weekend was my second time presenting at the annual BC Gymnastics Congress.
One reason the major BC event of the year is so consistently good and popular is that they bring in new speakers. The line-up this year was excellent. Here are photos of just a few:
Steve stayed on to coach at a Training camp hosted by Flicka.
Rumour – Alberta is planning, for the first time, a big Congress in 2012.
London 2012 Olympics to air in 3D
Panasonic plans to distribute more than 10 hours of 3D Games footage each day from a pool of broadcasters …
… The opening and closing ceremonies will be broadcast in 3D, as will more than 12 sports …
Athletics, gymnastics, diving and swimming will be included. My eyes are blurry already.

Good luck guys.
Awesome. … This should be hugely popular. The fittest athletes in the world doing spectacular things.

I’m surprised to see such a strong line-up competing the FIG Artistic Gymnastics Challenge Cup Ghent including:
Marco Baldauf (AUT), Diego Hypolito, Jade Barbosaet, Diana dos Santos (BRA), Zou Kai and Wu Liufang (CHN), Tomi Tuuha (FIN), Vlasos Maras (GRE), Kirsztian Berki (HUN), Dutch trio van Gelder, Wammes, Zonderland, Diana Anton Golotsukov (RUS), Regulo Carmona (VEN). …
Rumour is that Olympic Floor champion Zou Kai has a HUGE Floor difficulty start score.
Jiang Yuyuan is there, too, perhaps to prove herself ready for Tokyo.
Prize money of 25,000 CHF makes the event appealing. But we can already predict that somebody will be injured, forcing them to miss World Championships.
