Terin Humphrey on USAG

On May 3rd, 2019, USA Gymnastics new CEO informed me that I was not going to be asked to leave USA Gymnastics.

On May 5th, I was asked to resign by USA Gymnastics leadership even though my position was an elected position by the Athletes Council not USA Gymnastics. Ostensibly because of a Facebook post on my personal page.

Finally on May 20th, the Athletes Council decided to remove me from the position because of the pressure being placed upon them by USA Gymnastics. …

    Please, accept my heartfelt support for all of your work in, and on behalf of gymnastics. You demonstrate a wisdom far beyond your years, and I am grateful for your honesty. I hope the entire gymnastics community will rally around your passionate story. I understand your attempts to be a “team player” that were misled and betrayed by those in leadership. Your courage is palpable.

    If I may quote Bill Bradley:

    And, to the leadership:
    “To see what is right and not to do it is cowardice.” Confucius

    Lately, cowardice seems to find itself clothed in the robes of law.
