<p>It was Bruno Grandi who hand picked former MTC Chair <strong>Hardy Fink</strong> for the job of FIG Director of Education and Academy Programmes. Obviously a good choice.</p>
<p>Right now at an Artistic Academy in Tokyo coaches are being &#8220;coached&#8221; by Fink, Keith Russell and Valeri Liukin. I think they might learn something. <img src='http://gymnasticscoaching.com/new/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<blockquote><p>&#8230; The Academy Programme for <strong>Men’s and Women’s Artistic Gymnastics</strong> has been supplemented this year with a <strong>comprehensive Age Group Development, Competition and Testing Programme</strong> that was introduced to 17 countries in 2011 to which will be added as many as 25 more during 2012. &#8230;</p></blockquote>
<p>Philippines MAG adopted the new Age Group rules this season reporting good feedback from coaches. </p>

<p>Last weekend was my second time presenting at the annual <a href="http://gymnastics.bc.ca/event.php?id=636&#038;rscript=view_calendar.php&#038;ryear=2011&#038;rmonth=08" target="_blank">BC Gymnastics Congress</a>. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Great news for <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acrobatic_gymnastics" target="_blank">Acrobatic Gymnastics</a> in North America. </p>
<blockquote><p>USA Gymnastics and the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) announced today that the <strong>2012 World Acrobatic Gymnastics Championships</strong>, along with the World Age-Group Competition, will be held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex’s HP Field House at <strong>Walt Disney World Resort</strong> near <strong>Orlando</strong>, Fla. More than 600 gymnasts total are expected to participate in the World Championships, scheduled for <strong>April 16-18</strong>, and the World Age-Group Competition, set for April 20-22.</p>
<p>“USA Gymnastics is honored to host this prestigious event for the first time in the United States,” said Steve Penny, president of USA Gymnastics &#8230;</p>
