USA did not send a Jr women’s team this year. When is Marta retiring, again?

This meet was very, very good for a young Nastia Liukin.

Why didn’t Marta send a junior team? I find it so odd that the American girls rarely get sent to international meets. Just Jesolo is attended consistently. Well, it doesn’t seem to be hindering them at Worlds or Olympics. Still, it’d be great to see American representation at more World Cup meets.

P&G Championships are the same time as the Youth Olympics this year. Though YOG was scheduled first, seems silly to schedule them on the same dates. There is only seven athletes on the Junior National team for the women in the US. Three are heading to Pac Rims soon, and one injured. Marta has a lots more good juniors she could have picked from, or even just sent a team of three for experience. Was a missed opportunity I think.
