Louis Smith is back

Some of the British guys suspected Louis would be back.

He is.

Three time Olympic medallist Louis Smith has announced that he will be returning to full time training in an attempt to qualify and compete for England at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. …

Louis Smith returns: “I have unfinished business”

“Qualifying for Team England will be no easy feat. People may assume that my achievements to date will mean a place in the team however that couldn’t be further from the case. …

GBR will most likely win Commonwealth Games as a team. They may opt to put a specialist like Louis on for the big publicity he brings.

inks points out that Scotland might be competitive with Keatings & Purvis.

On the other hand, it would be good for the sport, if not for Team England’s final medal count to have Louis in the media spotlight.

But they don’t compete as GBR!
I’m interested to see where Scotland can place with (fake Scots) Purvis, Keatings et al

Good point.

Scotland might give England a run in a 3-up, 3-count meet.

Canada too.

Are the regs posted online?

I’m wondering how Lisa Mason’s comeback is tracking? – she was aiming to make it to the Commonwealth’s with her comeback. It will be a very interesting women’s competition – the Aussie’s are really going to struggle to go for a five-peat (1998, 2002, 2006,2010) I think. I do wonder whether we will see Scot Louise McColgan – is there an age limit for the CWGs?
