Yikes! In my American brain, “remembering Charlotte Mackie” sent me scrambling to find out how she died. Can we be “Recalling Charlotte” or something? :)

It’s great she never competed NCAA because that would “walmart” her skill level! That doesn’t happen in Men’s NCAA.

She seriously injured her foot on vault at Elite Canada 2010, the last event for her in finals. It required surgery with pins, screws, and plates with a very long recovery. It was basically a career ending injury, although she tried to recover, it was not possible to continue with the sport.
