Take-off now off the competition Floor. Bit of a scary landing.

Click PLAY or watch it on Instagram.

Any gymnast who can compete double double layout should be able to do triple double in training.

I don’t think I agree with that statement. Having done both playing around on floor into a pit, the extra twist in a triple double takes some time getting used to. I have to go at it much harder because its easy to feel like I’m coming out of the twist. A double full tucked in a tight position isn’t all that natural. I have also done triple doubles layed out and there it feels like the twisting and flipping essentially slows down on its own towards the end.

I`m thinking that might have been sarcasm…..

I don’t agree with the statement either. Whilst it’s impressive that she’s doing them, her layout double double isn’t great with poor form, piking, deep landings and out of bounds seemingly common. It’s not near the standard of this element that we see in MAG.
Triple double is a harder skill – it’s rated as a G in MAG against a F for layout double double.
It shouldn’t be expected that people doing a particular skill in comp with dubious execution should therefore be doing harder skills in training. I’m pretty sure the norm is to perfect skills before moving onto harder ones.
Nonetheless, I’d say this is a pretty good effort by Skinner (or anyone for that matter) but I wouldn’t want to see in in comp like that.
