cancel Cable TV

For your health.

child TVThere were three main reasons I hopped on the cord cutting bandwagon:

1. I got old.
2. I had a kid.
3. Netflix.

The kid thing was huge. We don’t let our three-year-old watch a lot of TV, but when we do it’s through No. 3 — Netflix. There’s a great selection of kid-friendly content and no commercials yelling at him in between breaks in the action. …

GigaOm – A lifelong cable hoarder cuts the cord and it’s a relief… kinda

I love your blog and respect your opinion but no lol. That’s what DVR is for and now you can fast forward through commercials. Plus I am a young adult and there are no little kids in my house. Maybe this would apply for some families but not all.

I just got rid of cable a few weeks ago, and find that I am actually loving it. I grew up without cable and only started watching it in college so it may not be as hard of an adjustment for me as it may for those who’ve had it their whole lives. I did buy a roku player and a playon subscription so I can still watch the few shows I like from both regular channels and cable channels.

Seems to be a problem for many with the bundling . Obviously not everyone agrees with every cable station in their package but contribute to it’s existence none the less.

This leads them to just go cold turkey & cut it.
