Before getting side-tracked by an argument over number and size of wobbles, can someone please tell me the affect of not reaching 180* in leaps?
Vasiliki has suspicious leaps/jumps at about :42 and a whole series at about 1:10 that bother me. I don’t see full split on any of those leaps, and no horizontal on the wolf jump in between. There weren’t balance checks there, but I see the potential for a real hammering on execution…
Absolutely not fair and there are plenty of similar examples. It’s becoming the new “normal” in gymnastics: it doesn’t really matter how you execute if you’re not from the right country. I get sadder and more disappointed with the people ruling this beatiful sport everytime something like this happens But I guess there’s nothing we can do…
It seems to me that the higher the gymnast’s difficulty value, the more lenient the judges are in the execution score. I can’t say for sure because I haven’t really crunched the numbers (maybe Uncle Tim can make one of his super charts!), but that’s how it seems, not just at this Worlds, but all international competitions. If that’s how they’re judging, it’s a real shame and unfair for gymnasts like Kyla Ross who have lower difficulty but beautiful execution in every skill.
There are judges at World’s who never see most of these skills at any meet that they judge. So………They wait and are not about to rock the boat. Don’t want to be far out of line with others, whether it is too high or too low. That is why most of the E scores are so close, I assume.
Move on . A man with a argument over a beam score of .2 is a bit gay.
@Sylvester – not cool bro, not cool
I love that between Mustafina’s last element and dismount she basically walks backwards pretending to look artistic, then just stands there while in the same time Vasiliki has done dance, a just series and a turn series. Flapping arms around is not artistic, even with dramatic make up.
Aliya has always been given less deductions. Face the facts. If you are a name you get the benefit.
