Why is the gymnast going to his knees? What is this helping?

Performing ROs, cartwheels, handstands, basically any skill from inverted is great to train from the knee as it requires strong forward propulsion from the trailing foot, and powerful lift from knee extension of the forward leg. what Biggs is showing is excellent, but this roundoff + back handspring drill is just a silly waste of time. Teach the kids how to sit into a back handspring and how to turn over a roundoff and you’re good.
