I have to hand it to the guys. They have been working and working to get a pro league going. For MEN’S gymnastics. Women’s gymnastics is far more popular in the US than men’s but nobody is trying to do anything as far as a pro league goes on the women’s side. The men have an attitude like they don’t give a fuck if anybody comes to see them or not. They’ll do it anyway just because they can. Women’s US gymnastics seems crippled by the notion that if they can’t go big, why bother?
What is the format? Does it work like the Bundesliga (ie head-to-head format)? Or is just 3 up 3 count or something like that?
I’m not sure. This is the first time I’ve heard it was happening.
Let’s promote.
Nice to see gymnast trying to get more out of their pro status. Would be nice to have successful pro leagues. i remember there were lots of these and with other countries post atlanta. There was a whole traveling compeition series and korkina, bei , lilia, and some others were a part of some.
This is not the first year for NGL. I know Charlie Tamayo competed in it last year, but I don’t know details about any of the meets. I was wondering about the format.
What is new is the increase in the number of high powered gymnasts participating.
