Planking is so over.
The new absurd, dangerous goof is called “batmanning“.

A Google search tells me that there have been no batmanning deaths yet. But it’s only a matter of time.

eek, Rick, I fear you may just have accidentally helped the new fad along by advertising it.
Just think of what people must have said when rock climbing, skydiving, and gymnastics were invented. Kids have always done stuff like this…Youtube just allows everyone to see it now. Dangerous…maybe…but so is riding your bike.
Of course I thought of that. There’s no such thing as bad publicity.
… On the other hand, this site is visited mainly by coaches, not frat boys.
Experts should be aware of these fads.
More people die crossing the road but that won’t stop it happening. I see the rule like this, if people do it, people will die doing it. I don’t think it is healthy to encourage people to live in a bubble of ‘safety’. This is probably less dangerous than almost anything we do in the gym, it’s just not controlled that’s all.
I am sick of all these ‘fads’. The only one I can tolerate is Leisure Diving, because it is just plain hysterical. Google it!
