Tumbl Trak Air Floor Pro

I emailed James Parent from Tumbl Trak for advice on what kind of air floor to provide in a Gymnaestrada show for 2012.

He suggested the Air Floor Pro.

Click PLAY or watch it on YouTube.

Mark Folger and Marvin Sharp give endorsements.

I like it, especially because this air floor system has no noisy electric blower. And can quickly be moved and reconfigured by different teams.

… Of course I LOVE the alternate use shown in the video, a quick-to-set-up John Carney Tower of Power.

Tumbl Trak will have a booth, as usual, at National Congress.

A physicist would need to explain to me whether this is healthy or not. As I understand it, gas does not infinitely compress, that is, the air would compress for a moment, then quickly reach its peak compression, at which point it’s as solid as a rock. Springs, on the other hand, compress with exponential force, so the resistance point is much more gradual, right?

In other words, wouldn’t the airtrack actually be kind of harmful?

No I don’t think that is how it works, I think the material is stretching not compressing the air sort of like when you sqeeze a balloon it stretches over the surface of the whole balloon and then snaps back into shape the material they use has some elasticity and bounces the gymnast back up when they jump on it, at least that is my take on it :)
