The Men’s Code of Points is far less criticized than the Women’s.
It seems that Men can better handle the extreme demands of 6 apparatus, 10 counting skills.
Horizontal Bar will be the first apparatus, I think, where we’ll see an 8.0 difficulty score. (18.0 maximum score)
Here’s one out of 7.8.
Click PLAY or watch it on YouTube.
I’d love to see Rybalko devalued. That will reduce Horizontal Bar start scores and encourage connected releases.

Seems to me that most men I’ve seen lately have outstanding form as well. Thus, the raise in the D score with a constant E score makes of less controversy over what we’ve all seen with the women… higher difficulty with horrible form or a fall winning over a properly executed yet, lesser difficulty routine. This being said, I’ve fallen in love with the beauty of men’s gymnastics but there’s so much drama in women’s I just can’t help myself.
You could add a higher dismount for the extra points?
I’d love to see the on-bar to flight bonus reduced to .1 (or eliminated) to encourage connected releases…
An 8.0 start routine (with no connected releases, because it’s easier to rack up the connection bonuses without them)
Stoop shoot 1/2 (D)+ Kovacks piked (E)+ Rybalko (D)+ Jager Stretched (D)
Stoop shoot 1/1 (D) + Yamawaki (D)
Stalder Rybalko (E)
Endo 1/1 to el (D) + Winkler (E)
Fedorchenko (F)
1F – 0.6
3E – 1.5
6D – 2.4
5xconnect- 1.0
Groups – 2.5
8.0 Start
Epke can do an 18. He just needs to connect Tak full Yamawaki to Rybalko in this set.
I do not think on bar to release should be a connect bonus. Just release to release.
This is by far more watchable then any female UB routine save minus He Kexin.
