He might be shelling out a lot of green by the end of each practice.
I wonder if the same applies for the coach if the gymnast doesn’t make it!
Here’s another one I learned from coach Nori in Kelowna.
He has a standing conditioning segment at the end of practice. An example gymnast is prescribed 100 dips. Throughout practice (but usually on pommels) he will give the gymnasts a chance to reduce their conditioning by performing skills to certain standards. Example gymnast gets minus 50 dips each time they circle in and out of Stockli A.
Really surprised me to see the extra motivation and side competitions the boys got into. Nori explained that if someone is strong enough to do the skill he sets for them, then they probably don’t need the conditioning. On the other hand, if they can’t accomplish the skill…..
