RAVE REVIEWS
Aunt Joyce:
… a British documentary covering the selection of the 2008 Olympic Team. As a documentary alone, it is worthy of viewing. As a gymnastics documentary, it is superb. The film captures the emotional stress on the British girls as they train and compete for a spot on the Olympic Team. The never-ending stress at home and in the gym is palpable.
Andrian Stan is the star of the film. His blunt candor is horrifying, refreshing, amusing and brutally honest. …

“Doesn’t the USA have the strongest University gymnastics program in the world?”
In terms of sports, maybe, but the NCAA has rules on how many hours athletes can train and most athletes take the summer off to rest.
Also… the top guns have nationals this week. Seems silly to compete in this meet if all their funding, national team status, etc is riding on USA Championships
My point is only that IF the USA put one of their best teams into this meet, they’d be gold medal contenders. … But only rarely do they compete in it. Not sure why.
That’s true for MAG this time around. Good point. …
But a top College WAG team could have been assigned.
These comments seem to be on the wrong post! They’re all about the University Games and the post is about the Gymnast film on BBC!
Watched 14 minutes of it. Kept waiting for them to…get into the documentary. But it was almost ALL heavy mood music. Give me some insight and conflict. That thing just…dragged!
