Awesome, no other words really. Can’t wait till he can compete the full out. That would be awesome
The full out seems more realistic that the double layout. But they are both pretty awesome !!
It is an amazing Vaults shows that TSUKs are very powerful Vaults for very powerful gymnasts. During my work in GB ( 10 years ago!) I have tried with Kanukai Jackson “full-in back-out” and tripple back. I agree that full-out is more realistic.
I believe the full out has already been done by Ri Se Gwang of North Korea
Ri Se Gwang competed a Kazamatsu-back tuck out, which is similar, but not quite the same as Buhail’s tsuk 1/1 out.
That double lay looks real nice, but he’s a long way from landing it. The 1/1 out, though, is certainly doable.
I’ve heard rumbling that the FIG doesn’t want to value any MAG vaults higher than 7.2.
If so, would doing the Tsuk double layout even be worth it? I agree it does not look doable at this point.
The “Ri Se Gwang” is listed as a Tsuk entry in the COP, but I remember when the guy did it everbody was calling it a Kas.
@Ono – I just check the code and you are right – it is listed as double tsukahara with 1/1 twist. Yet, it is certainly a Kas + back salto. No doubt about it. We should get half of the FIG removed due to lack of knowledge of the sport.
Also, you are correct about the 7.2. This is the limit on vault. It totally defeats the purpose of the open ended system. 7.2 is the new 10.0!
I wouldn’t mind a cap in theory since vault scores or disproportionately higher than the rest of the events but then start values would need to be devauled as difficulty increase….it’s ridiculous that 1/1 tsuk double is only .2 more than a tsuk double pike and adding a half twist to any twisting vault is .4 higher. Gwang also competed a dragulescu piked which also was a 7.2…..why not just make them both 7.4 and cap it there? Or cap it at 7 and devalue the everything down the line.
wow I did not edit that post at all, sorry for the terrible typos/grammatical errors it was posted at the end of a long working day hah
