I dropped in to the Region 5 Championships for Level 9 and 10 running concurrently with NCAA WAG Championships in Cleveland this past weekend.
Only 1 floor … but note the tumbling strip on the left side. It was well used.
While there, I bought the John Geddert DVDs missing from my collection.
John Geddert on the meet for his club:
I am beyond words. Twistars USA level 9-10s were simply unstoppable this weekend at regionals. It is so satisfying to see hard work pay off. Let there be no doubt why you train so hard… The results speak volumes
Larry Nassar:
Geddert’s Twistars Gymnastics ties USAG Record with 14 Twistars level 10s making it to JO Nationals They also had 6 level 9s qualify for nationals with a total of 20 qualifiers combined. However the record for combined 9 and 10 national qualifies is 24 set by Geddert’s Twistars in 2002 with 14 level 9s and 10 level 10s qualifying to nationals. So bottom line is Twistars has both records now …
John’s gone down to New Orleans for a little R&R.
College Gym Fans has a run down on what happened at the Regional meets, nation wide. That post notes where some of the 10s have signed or committed.
