pit cleaning – Okanagan Gymnastics

Okanagan Gymnastics Centre empties, cleans and maintains their two pits twice each year. It’s a gorgeous, bright facility. (more photos)

We had the idea to pitch this to the Mike Rowe’s Dirty Jobs TV show.

Pitching it to Dirty Jobs is a great idea :) I always sign my husband up for this job to fulfill the volunteer requirements at our daughter’s gym. He’s lucky though – instead of just used Band-Aids, he’s the one that will find a $5 bill. Fingers crossed for a $20 or two this spring!

A good thread on the Chalkbucket forum that highlights many reasons why this would be a good pitch for a show. Pits are icky!

This should be read in conjuction with this old gem.
“What things have you found in your pit? Ew.

This would be one of the lame-o dirty jobs. Seriously, when little kids are helping to do it, it’s not that dirty.
