Men’s NCAA Gymnastics Rankings

Gymnastike:

… The Oklahoma Sooners finished their regular season undefeated and exploded with a 366.40, the highest score yet to be posted this season. They have moved past Stanford for this week’s #1 national ranking.

There will be one regular season meet left for some teams, others will rested for their 2011 Conference Championship meets on April 2nd. …

I’ve found the Women’s rankings very accurate in predicting who will finish highest at team championships. But not so with the Men.

I won’t make any prediction on who will win this year, though I do plan to be at Championships to see the meet with my own eyes.

Steven Legendre is a safe bet to win the all-around, however.

Penn State has another #1 Ring Man, Scott Rosenthal. Amazing.

See much, much more on Gymnastike.

A 6.3 D Score with Group I only fulfilled with a simple inlocate!
Good work playing the code!

6.6 with connection?

Barring some sort of disaster, OU will win.

Legendre is not a safe bet to win the AA. Far from it. He makes one big mistake, Dalton hits, and that’s it.

Glen Ishino could show up and beat both of them.

No, I’m not drinking this early in the morning. Be careful with those AA rankings, as they are based on the a specific 4 score average and some contenders don’t have enough scores to show up.

It’s a safe bet that if Rick says it’s a safe bet, it won’t happen. I’m still blaming that NC State 80s b-ball run on you. ;)

Don’t count out Cal, they’re psyched and deep. Do think it will be a West team. Stanford, OU and Cal all have the guns.

Perhaps I’m being unreasonably POSITIVE about Steve because I’ve too often criticized him in the past. :)

@Adam Peterson: That’s what I first thought, too, but he’s counting it as a giant — otherwise he’s breaking the rule of doing 5 or more strength skills without a B-level swing or swing hs skill. Plus, look at that back uprise to hs — I’m not sure he CAN get his arms closer than that! :-)

Believe it or not, Scott left several of his hardest skills out of that routine. He’s competed a butterfly to cross before, and has been pulling off Balandins in training
