Horton in it to win it

Jonathan Horton told IG he hopes to fully recover from a recent thumb injury to challenge world all-around champion Kohei Uchimura (Japan) for the American Cup title next month. …

Horton said finishing third behind Uchimura and Germany’s Philipp Boy in Rotterdam has helped him assess the improvements he needs to make by this fall’s worlds in Tokyo.

… “I have one thing I need to focus on — execution!” Horton told IG.

… it’s pretty obvious that Uchimura’s success is not only because he has great difficulty but he is super clean. I need to get to that level.”

Horton’s only chance is that Uchimura gets hurt. Horton is nowhere near as good as him, nor will he ever be.

No one is as good as Uchimura (at least right now) but Horton’s only chance is NOT if Uchimura gets hurts.

Everyone makes mistakes, and if people compete long enough, all most all of them get beat. If it could happen to Usain Bolt and Secretariat, it could happen to Uchimura. It’s just a matter of who happens to be ready to take the opportunity when the time comes, and of the current crop of gymnasts, Horton is more likely than most to be the one.

SCAM will probably not be the time, as Horton isn’t totally healthy.

I have to say that i am surprised that it has take Horton all this time to figure out that he could do much better if he focused on cleaning up his technique haha..
